ESTEL was created on 25/12/1988 as a subsidiary company of the National Company of Railway Transportation SNTF, in response to the challenges of that time, in Signalling, and telecommunication in the railways field, which had to be taken up by the National Company of the Railway Transportation. It is during the Nineties that ESTEL, Engineering Signalling, Telecommunications and Electricity, started by developing its assets by developing a policy of integration. It also knew how to profit from local industrial network for a full assumption of responsibility regarding its projects.

October 16, 2004, SNTF and SIEMENS AG signed a partnership agreement embodied by the transfer with the profit of SIEMENS AG of 51% of the actions composing the issued capital of ESTEL.

ESTEL became ESTEL RAIL AUTOMATION, and this partnership came to crown many years of efforts and good relationship, in several Signalling and telecommunication projects realisation.
